Preparing for Baby Bartlett

Small & Mighty
I took a 2-day class the week of April 12th where I sat for 8 hours each day. That gives you a lot of time to try to figure out what is going on in your body.
The first day of the class I kept feeling something inside my lower belly that resembled light touches. I was not sure what it was because it seemed a little early to be feeling the baby move. But, when it happened again on the second day of class I knew that is what it had to be. It's a crazy feeling and I soon started feeling it anytime I was still... sitting on the couch, laying in bed, sitting at my desk. I was really excited for Josh to feel it for the first time 2 weeks ago (May 3rd)! I think he'll be even more excited when it is more powerful, I'm sure it is pretty faint to him right now. But, Baby B's movements keep growing stronger and Josh can feel it more now.
It's funny - I've decided Baby B either takes after his/her Mommy and is going to LOVE Soccer or takes after Daddy and is going to have an amazing fast ball! I'm not sure what exactly it's doing in there, but I love the feeling!

Royalty
Reese and Hayden are really excited for Baby Bartlett to get here! They have already started picking out names.
Reese - It will be a girl named Princess Lucy!
Hayden - It will be a boy named Prince Tractor Boy!
hmmm.... wonder where they came up with these names???

20 Week Ultrasound
We had our 20 week ultrasound almost 2 weeks ago (sorry for the late post) and it was great! It was so amazing to see the baby!
We stuck to our guns and didn't find out the sex of the baby...which, the baby totally cooperated and kept his/her legs crossed the entire time.
As you know I'm almost always unprepared, but this time I was thinking ahead and called my nurse to find out if I should have caffeine before the appt so that the baby would be moving. She said that was okay and I could have a drink on my way to the office. So Josh and I shared a coke and I had a few big swigs before going into the appt. Unfortunately, we had to wait 1 hour for the appt because they were running late, so Baby Bartlett totally fell asleep! It actually worked out okay because we saw a lot of really cute movements. Baby B woke up, rubbed his/her eyes, stretched, yawned and rolled over. So precious! I loved the big yawn and eye rub! Then, once he/she was a little more awake, it started batting around the umbilical cord... again, so cute!
We were very happy that everything looked great! They checked the heart, size/length and heartbeat. All is good! We feel very blessed!

Boy or Girl?
We're so excited for our 20 week Doctor's appointment! We'll get to see our baby for the first time since our 8 week appt. This is when we are able to find out the sex of Baby Bartlett - but we've decided to wait for the surprise! Ever since my sister waited to find out with her first baby, Reese, I've loved the idea of the surprise. When else in life do you get a real surprise? I'm going to have to make sure my midwife practices saying "It's a..." with excitement so it's all worth it:-)
The fun in waiting is also the guessing game. Everyone, except for Josh and me, seem to have a good guess at what we are having.
Our good friends Megan and Burt are also due in September and are waiting to find out what they are having. She sent me a fun link to 'old wives tells' that will help us to know what we are having. So, I thought it would be fun to share with you...

You don't look quite as good as normal during pregnancy: No, according to Josh
You are moodier than usual during pregnancy: Ha Ha - I'm always moody:-)
Your face breaks out more than usual: No
You refuse to eat the heel of a loaf of bread: Yes - but I always refuse to eat it
You add your age at the time of conception and the number for the month you conceived and the sum is an odd number: No
